The Survivor Council of Canada (SCC) brings survivors and allies together through events that encourage connection, learning, and survivor leadership. SCC works in collaboration with The Gatehouse in Toronto. On this page, we share SCC events, selected Gatehouse events, and events hosted by other collaborators. The Gatehouse’s 8th Annual Healing the Voice Within Art Gala Fundraiser takes place on October 8, 2026, at the Liberty Grand in Toronto.
The evening will bring together survivors, supporters, artists, community members and special guests in support of The Gatehouse and its survivor-centred programs for adults impacted by childhood sexual abuse.
The event will feature keynote speaker Tara MacLean, live music, live painting, performances and a live auction.
Proceeds help support The Gatehouse’s peer support programs, counselling, psychotherapy and community initiatives.
The Gatehouse’s Man Enough to Heal event takes place on November 5, 2026, in Cobourg.
This community event is designed to raise awareness about childhood sexual abuse and create space for men to hear, connect and learn more about healing and support.
The evening will bring together survivors, supporters, community members and local partners in support of The Gatehouse’s work with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
Indigenous Town Hall on Childhood Sexual Abuse – September 16, 2026
On September 16, 2026, The Gatehouse and the Survivor Council of Canada welcomed 66 participants to a hybrid Indigenous Town Hall on Childhood Sexual Abuse. Hosted at the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto and online, the gathering created space for Indigenous voices, lived experience, community knowledge, and practical recommendations for healing, prevention, and systems change.
The Town Hall brought together survivors, Indigenous community members, allies, service providers, students, staff, and community supporters. Forty-five people participated in person and 21 joined online, making it possible for voices from different locations and experiences to contribute to the conversation. Read more here
