Stewart started at The Gatehouse in 2012 as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Upon completing the programs, he continued on to volunteer until 2021, when he took on the role of Program Assistant to the Adult Peer Support Men’s Program.

Stewart facilitates guest lecturers at Colleges and Universities about his Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA) healing experiences. Stewart started a podcast in 2015 supporting CSA survivors with over 200 podcast episodes on Blog Talk Radio called Personal Transformation also available on Spotify and other platforms; Twitter advocate since 2012 @Gottogetoutof Unforgiven Warrior I became Stewart Thompson I am. 

Stewart’s story has been presented in Unlock the Door Beyond Sexual Abuse by Deb Maybury 2014. Stewart’s story was published in The Toronto Star in 2017 and was presented in Canada Justice Magazine in 2018. In 2021 Stewart was a panel member of The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN CSA) hosted and moderated by the World health Organization (WHO).

In 2017 Stewart received The Governor General’s Sovereign Volunteer Service Award
